Overview

We have used Outdoor Cap since 2012 and are happy to have them as neighbors in Arkansas for design and development. We accomplished a major milestone for FW19 and future collections and sourced all GOTS certified Organic Cotton for our main hat fabrics. We were also able to have Outdoor Cap start sourcing from our Hemp supplier, Hempfortex for future developments.

Solid Beanie

I got the "henna" color, which I'd describe as a pretty true rust color. Not really orange or red - nicely in between, leaning more towards red. It has a substantial enough weight of fiber to be warm in pretty cold weather (30's - 40's), but it will not be my go-to for very cold days (20's and below). It's mid-weight, stretchiness, and non-itchy feel make it a comfortable option to leave on when going inside from the cold. I have a large head, and can be picky about hats/beanies, but this fits me well. It's not too tight on me so that the roominess ends up looking like a weird little point on top of my head. I believe it would likely fit smaller heads well too, but likely with an even more roomy beanie look. I also appreciate the understated logo. FWIW, I bought this on sale. Idk that I would have taken a shot on it at full price because I'm picky, but if I had, I wouldn't have been disappointed.

Hemp

We like Hemp. Its natural resistance to pests and weed-blocking dense growth requires no chemicals of any kind. It is the strongest natural fiber, naturally antimicrobial and resistant to UV.

Recycled Polyester

At our Hemp Fortex factory, we use Repreve Recycled Polyester, which uses PET from plastic water bottles as the raw material. Recycling the PET into fiber not only reduces landfill and ocean waste, it causes far less air pollution than making new PET.
