The Kessler Trail Run: An Effort For Further Land Conservation
For the third year in a row, the upcoming Kessler Trail Run will offer a unique chance to indulge in the fall foliage of the Ozarks all while supporting the protection of public park land.
In 2014, the City of Fayetteville purchased the Kessler Mountain Reserves, a 328 acre plot that is now easily accessible to the public.
Organizers from the Mount Kessler Greenways work year-round to maintain the beauty and quality of the trails with the intention of accentuating the mountain's natural features. In strife to raise both funds and awareness for such conservation of Fayetteville's Kessler Mountain, the Kessler Trail Run will take place this Saturday, November 7th.
Enjoy the peace of Arkansas mornings during a 10K or 20K run across Kessler Mountain. Races begin at 9am on the east side of Kessler Mountain at the trailhead on Judge Cummings Road. Directly following, a post-run event at the Fayettechill Smokehouse will offer a chance for a community connection via local vendors, craft beer, and live music by folk musician Justin Leflar. Beer will be provided by Ozark Brew Co., Apple Blossom Brew Co., and Fossil Cove. All runners and / or after-party attendees will receive a free pint glass to fill with craft beer of their choice.
Cost to participate in the race + post-party is $30 - $40. Non-competitors can contribute $10 to be included in all post-race festivities. Register here or visit Mt.
