This design by Bryn Merrell was inspired by the great outdoors, and secluded mountain sunsets. The name is a reference to an optical phenomenon where the setting sun creates a visible glow just above the horizon.

Recycled Polyester, made from post-consumer products such as water bottles, uses less energy, less virgin raw material. Diverts bottles and similar materials from landfills. Dyeing & Finishing
The local dye house is Bluesign compliant and one of the most environmentally friendly dye houses in the world. On average, they use 40% less chemicals, 50% less electricity, 65% less water, 30% less natural gas, and 50% lower emissions compared to a typical dye house in United States. These savings are even greater when compared to dye houses operating in China, India, etc.
Water-based inks, PVC and Phthalate free.
The entire manufacturing operation takes place within an 8-mile radius. Production Waste: 100% of the fabric scraps generated during the cutting process is recycled.

We have used Outdoor Cap since 2012 and are happy to have them as neighbors in Arkansas for design and development. All factories used under Outdoor Cap are Fair Labor Certified. While we weren’t able to source sustainable fabrics for SS19, We accomplished a major milestone for FW19 and future collections and sourced all GOTS certified Organic Cotton for our main hat fabrics. We were also able to have Outdoor Cap start sourcing from our Hemp supplier, Hempfortex for future developments.

They use only EU approved dyes and chemicals in dyeing and finishing and carefully monitor and control wastewater.

FWF is active in 15 production countries in Asia, Europe, and Africa. Hemp Fortex became its 2nd factory member in June of 2011.
