Super useful lightweight mid layer.

All those good practical things you get from a grid fleece plus surpisingly stylish. I especially like the thumb holes and that it's long enough that I don't get cold drafts round my lower back!

Best Fleece Hoodie I own

I have Marmot, Columbia, North Face and Eddie Bauer Fleeces in my closet. The Fayettechill Fleece Hoodie is my new favorite, it has a distinct and unique design. Very warm and comfortable and hoodie comes in very handy on windy chilly days.

Better than a Melanzana

Its impossible not to draw the comparison: I've owned a Melanzana Microgrid Hoodie for 6 months and the Fayettechill Livingston is far superior. The Livingston is bit more expensive and slightly heavier than the Melly but easily available online unlike the Melanzana. The hood and cinch closure on the Livingston have a better design. The thumb looks are great (something I always wished the Melanzana had), the polartec fleece is warm and the build quality is really stellar without being too flashy. It suits my needs and style well and it will be replacing a few of my other layers for camping and backpacking trips. Thanks! (For reference: I'm 5ft 11in 170lb Medium is a great fit)

My New Favorite Hoodie!

This thing is warm and does a pretty good job of blocking wind, even with the grid fleece. I haven’t used it hiking yet so I can’t speak to the breathability however I don’t have concerns based on other grid fleece tops I’ve used. The fit is great; not too fitted and it too loose. I normally where an XL (5’ 11”, 235 lbs) but I am in process of dropping weight so I ordered a size L and it fits great, actually. Hopefully I will need to order a medium in the near future! For comparison my Patagonia R1 is an XL and still fits me a little tighter than the Livingston does in a size L. This will be coming with me as a mid layer on my weekend warrior hiking trips and will be worn often as an everyday casual piece. I certainly recommend this hoodie for anyone looking for a grid fleece. The thumb holes and large kangaroo pocket are nice additions as well. Seems like the pocket opening is high enough to use it while wearing a hip belt.

Our Promise

At our 10-year mark, our commitment to quality is stronger than ever. Goods for the woods that are good for the woods. We collect and thoughtfully create eco-conscious goods that are built-to-last. We strive to lessen our impact on the environment with each seasonal product collection, including ethical manufacturing and sourcing of organic and recycled materials.

Organic Cotton

Vote for Organic Cotton. It protects natural ecosystems and nurtures the soil, versus crops treated with pesticides and chemicals that are harmful for farmers, workers, wildlife, and waterways.

Hemp

We like Hemp. Its natural resistance to pests and weed-blocking dense growth requires no chemicals of any kind. It is the strongest natural fiber, naturally antimicrobial and resistant to UV.

Recycled Polyester

At our Hemp Fortex factory, we use Repreve Recycled Polyester, which uses PET from plastic water bottles as the raw material. Recycling the PET into fiber not only reduces landfill and ocean waste, it causes far less air pollution than making new PET.
